We always enjoy working with local businesses, but creating a website for a local government organization brings a unique sense of purpose. We were honored to design and build a new site for Plain Township — a community-focused project referred to us through one of our favorite groups, Innovate New Albany Tiger Events.

This site was designed to serve residents with a clear structure for official documents, event information, township updates, and more. Local governments have a lot of information to share, and we love working on projects like this because we can see how the right tools and structure save time for staff and make things easier for the community they serve.

PDF search functionality

A basic search bar wouldn’t cut it since much of the township’s content is PDF. We implemented an advanced site-wide search that indexes page content and text within PDFs so residents can quickly find the information they need, and administrators can easily upload new content without extra formatting.

Community Event Calendar

To help keep the community informed, the site also features a calendar that makes it easy to post and browse local events.

User-Friendly Navigation

To keep things organized and easy to navigate, the site uses in-page menus, toggles, and collapsible sections that keep content clean and approachable, even when there’s much to cover.
