It’s the Time for Holiday Branding!
Holiday branding is another opportunity for companies to show the world who they are. When we think of the holiday vibe, we think cozy, elegant, mysterious, a little extra, and fun. The holiday look can go in many different directions—Victorian and vintage, retro, traditional holiday, fun palm trees with lights; think about what the holiday means to your business, and check out some of our ideas below. We have compiled five ways to brand your business for the best time of year (at least when it’s here) – the holidays!
5 WAYS TO ADD A HOLIDAY SPIN TO YOUR MARKETING
1. DESIGNATE A HOLIDAY FONT
There are so many cool fonts that you could use to express your holiday self. Below are some we think are gifts to the font world and a few ways to use them:
Holiday party invitations, sale campaigns, social media quotes, etc., are all great places to utilize a holiday font. Once you pick a font that resonates with you, add it to your brand guide and sprinkle cheer throughout your marketing materials!
2. ADD A HOLIDAY TAGLINE
Besides the typical greetings we included in our fonts above, some companies create a separate tagline for the holiday season. Some examples include Apple: Make Someone’s Holiday, Coca-Cola Canada: Give Something Only You Can Give, Kool-Aid: All I Really Want for Christmas.
3. CREATE HOLIDAY COLORS
While traditional red and green are still fun, holiday colors have expanded in many new and exciting ways! You may have noticed that we added a red/coral-y color to some of our headers for this newsletter that, combined with our green, brings on the Christmas cheer! Adding one color to our already existing palette allows us to stay in season and consistent even though our red and green aren’t strictly traditional. Holiday colors have branched out into blues, purples, and even blacks!
4. ADD A HOLIDAY ELEMENT
If you don’t have a character for your brand, consider adding one for the holidays! Think, elf on the shelf or the Coke polar bear. If that does interest you, please let us help. 🙂 Of course, not all brands require a woodchuck or magical creature. You can add more accessible holiday elements like a sparkle or two, a candy cane, stocking, or even something like a simple wreath around your logo like ours.
5. DRESS UP THE MASCOT
Sorry to be Captain Obvious, but we wanted to show off our new ‘Kringle Chuck.’ If you are lucky enough to have an animal or any mascot as a part of your current branding, please let us adorn it in holiday garb! We can do anything in Photoshop. Let yourself dream about gnome and Santa logos along with those sugarplums. 😉
